I am Teamrat. It means miracle in my mother tongue. It has a story bigger than me.

I am afraid of labels. I find they inevitably constrain what you can be and do. But there are some unavoidable ones. I prefer to describe myself mostly as my leanings.

I am an immigrant. I have lived more than half of my life in my adopted home. I am a man of science and a man of faith. I am comfortable with not having explanation. I am inspired by contradictions.

I live with unremitting internal dialogue about everything big and small. I sometimes write it down to help me focus it. Photography is one of few activities that quiets the conversation. Not the actual photographs. But the moments before the snap, when I immerse myself in the scene in front of me. The photographs are like stoppers that start the flow of my memory. For pictures I take with intention, I remember everything.

This collection of notes, photos, and deeper observations is mostly written for me to organize my thoughts. I occasionally share a post with close friends.
