MPO is the French plant, 14-0466 the manufacturing code for this reissue, 88875014281 the catalogue and barcode number for the standalone 2015 remastered edition. Multiple stamper variants exist within this matrix family, so the extra numbers do not indicate a different mastering.
Part of the same remastering campaign as The Album Collection Vol. 1, with Bob Ludwig and Toby Scott involved and new transfers taken from the original analog masters.
This is the first record on the shelf to disclose engineer, tape source and plant together. One caveat: a transfer taken from analog tape says where the signal started, not whether it stayed analog to the lacquer. The 2015 campaign is generally understood to have digitised for remastering, which would make this a well-documented digital-source pressing rather than an all-analog one. unverified
QC 38653 is a Columbia number from the early 1980s renumbering, carried onto a 2015 pressing of a 1975 album — a catalogue number from neither the record’s era nor the pressing’s.
