Six-eye label dates it 1955–62, consistent with CL 830. Dead wax read as XLP 37648-1E. Recorded 1951–52; the 1956 retitling of Ellington Uptown. Contains ‘A Tone Parallel to Harlem,’ a fourteen-minute piece written for the LP format when most records were still built around three-minute sides. Note the catalogue number sits six apart from the Bechet CL 836 — same label, same era, both mono six-eye, so the two may well have come from the same source.
