Original mono six-eye. Drawn from Armstrong’s 1955 European tour, produced by George Avakian. Third of a striking run — CL 830 Ellington, CL 836 Bechet, CL 840 Armstrong — three mid-1950s Columbia mono originals within ten catalogue numbers, almost certainly acquired together. Together with the Bechet, this gives the collection its early and trad jazz foundation.
